FABBRICA DI CULTURA

An open dialogue between art, culture and textile manufacture.

We renew the role of the factory as a place for experimentation, hosting exhibitions, workshops and events to create new modes of interaction.

Fabbrica di Cultura was created with the aim of transferring our creativity and heritage, normally applied to textile production, to projects that dialogue with the world of fashion and art.

Just as our everyday creations inspire brands, so this route aims to create a bridge between industry and culture. Our historic production site becomes a dynamic and stimulating place, a hub of new ideas and experimentation.

OUR FIRST EXHIBITION

Tribute to Walter Albini

The first appointment of Fabbrica di Cultura is dedicated to Walter Albini, the designer who revolutionised Italian fashion with the invention of prêt-à-porter, enhancing the more creative side of the profession. An original, disruptive and complex personality.

The tour explores the themes of the exhibition 'Walter Albini, the Talent, the Designer' curated by the Museo del Tessuto, of which we are sponsors and collaborators.

An immersive narrative retracing the 12 unpublished drawings by Walter Albini dedicated to Luca Ronconi's noir 'Latina', a mysterious work inspired by the walls of our Fabbricone Storico, never staged. To pay tribute to Albini's creativity, we recreated 5 of the designer's drawings in sartorial clothes inspired by the originals, giving new life to the two artists' unfinished project.

TRIBUTE TO WALTER ALBINI

Behind the scenes of our creative journey

01

Discovery of sketches

Thanks to the Museo del Tessuto, we rediscovered Walter Albini's sketches related to Luca Ronconi's Latina opera. Each drawing reveals a fragment of the Unfinished project, revealing mysterious characters and atmospheres.

02

Garment design

Starting from sketches, we reinterpreted Albini's designs and transformed them into contemporary models. Each garment reflects the original style, reworked with fabrics from our collection selected together with the Museo del Tessuto.

03

Final realisation

In the final stage, we translated the design into tailor-made garments displayed in the exhibition. Each garment celebrates the unique visions of Albini and Ronconi, bringing their unfinished project to life.

“ It is truly a fine example of how cultural heritage can become a source of inspiration for contemporary creativity and design, and how cultural institutions and companies can create shared value, giving rise to original projects with sometimes unexpected implications. ”

Filippo Guarini, Director of the Textile Museum

CHARITY AND INCLUSION

Kepos Onlus

Solidarity, inclusiveness and a sense of community: these are the values at the heart of the third edition of Arte in Fabbrica, the charity auction organised by Kepos Onlus and hosted within the walls of our Fabbricone Storico.

A total of 72 works were auctioned, including 13 created by the disabled youngsters of Kepos and 39 created by artists from Prato, Tuscany and all over Italy. The entire proceeds were donated to Kepos Onlus to support social inclusion and improve the quality of life of disabled people and their families.

A symbolic evening of solidarity in Prato, demonstrating what it means to build an inclusive path for the factory community, combining different worlds such as art, disability and industry in a project of mutual enrichment.
